How it works
So, how does it work?
Online
You can write a letter online at PosttotheFuture.com by clicking on the ‘Send a
Letter’ tab. Simply enter the address that your letter is to be sent to and enter
a future delivery date and once you have written the letter and submitted it to
us, we do the rest! You may wish to write a letter to a loved one for delivery next
month, next year or on a special anniversary. There is no limit as to how far in
to the future you wish to send your letter.
PosttotheFuture.com will print and envelope your letter 2 days before delivery,
and post it via snail mail through one of PosttotheFuture carriers. You can edit
your letter from your draft folder up until the point you submit it to us for safe
keeping. Once completed and submitted you will not be able to edit the letter, but
you will be able to delete it prior to 5 days before delivery.
Handwritten Letter

You may wish to write your own personal letter to someone. You can seal your letter in an envelope and address it to the recipient, but do not put a stamp on it. Simply put that addressed envelope inside another envelope and send it all to us at the PO Box address below.

All you need to do online is logon to PosttotheFuture.com and select the ‘Send a Letter’ tab, followed by the blue option for ‘Send a Handwritten Letter’. Follow the instructions to send your handwritten letter to PosttotheFuture.
Print out your order confirmation form and put this in the envelope with your handwritten letter.
When we receive your handwritten letter, we will store it in our secure vault and at the delivery date specified by you on your order form, we will then post that letter out.
You may cancel the delivery of your letter once it has been sent to us, prior to 5 days before the delivery date. In this instance, PosttotheFuture will send your letter back to you using the address on your file.
How do I know that my letter will be delivered?
There are 2 ways that PosttotheFuture guarantees delivery:
- Address book
You have an address book that you can maintain and update as and when you know people have moved. The address page on your letter is linked to the address page in your address book. When the time comes for us to deliver your letter, we will use the most up-to-date address for the recipient as shown in your PosttotheFuture.com address book.
- Trace People Facility
PosttotheFuture.com use a Trace People Facility. This allows the latest address of the recipient to be located by using the address stated on the original letter at the time of submitting your letter. There is an additional charge for this service but it allows you to know that the letter will be delivered to the recipient wherever they may live in the future.
- So how do we trace people?
If you select the Trace People
Facility, PosttotheFuture will use the original address and details of the recipient and search for them. This service uses standard trace methods, including Electoral Registers, Births, Deaths and Marriage records and online information records to trace recipients.
What is the difference between Personal and Business Letters?
When you choose to send a personal letter, it is printed on our PosttotheFuture.com headed paper, so that your recipient knows where it has come from. When you start creating your letter online, you can see a preview with the PosttotheFuture logo.
With a business letter there is no reference to PosttotheFuture.com.
All letters are printed on high quality plain paper and use a high quality envelope.
What are examples of business letters?
You may wish to send a business letter for delivery next month, perhaps you will be overseas and need a letter sent whilst you are away, or you may even want to prepare your resignation in advance!!
Whatever your reason, PosttotheFuture will deliver your business letters for you in the future.
How much does it cost?
